30 Cambodian Officials Undergo Economic Diplomacy Strategy Training

Phnom Penh: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has collaborated with the Government of Singapore through its embassy in Cambodia in conducting a training course about diplomacy to 30 Cambodian officials. The training course was titled “Economic Diplomacy: The making of economic and trade policy strategies” held on Monday.

MFAIC’s Chairman of the Economic Diplomatic Coordination Working Group, Nhim Khemara chaired the program on behalf of Foreign Minister Prak Sokhon. It was attended by officials from the Embassy of Singapore. The training aims to raise awareness of trade policy, multilateral trading system under the World Trade Organization, the use of liberalisation under the ASEAN Economic Community to compete and integrate in the world trade system and the use of techniques of economic negotiation to contribute to the development of human resources and the Cambodian economy.

Khemara has emphasised that human resource development is a priority area of the Royal Government of Cambodia, especially the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation for training. He has added that human resources play an important role in developing capacity with new knowledge and skills in the field of diplomacy and foreign affairs through the National Institute of Diplomacy and international relations.
